Nearly 500 community members attended the 2nd annual Christmas Tree Giveaway. The 2017 Christmas Tree Giveaway represented a true community effort with volunteers from the SF Guardsmen, The Mayors Office, Build Inc, and SF Housing Authority coming together to give out 300+ trees to Bayview residents, an increase of approximately a third over last year’s distribution. The NOW HP team organized several additional programming elements to create a complete holiday community festival including a holiday-themed roller disco, photos with Santa, face painting, and holiday treats. Representatives from the Mayor’s Office and SF Housing Authority have expressed appreciation for the event and excitement to grow the event in 2018.
